So it has been a long time since I have blogged. So older photos go first.

We got Dallin some ballons for his birthday and Christine decided to spin herself in the strings around her neck while I was feeding Emma. I told her to take it off right away and so she pulled the string and it gave you a friction burn on her neck. I felt so bad for her it stayed for weeks.Jake and Christine playing with candy clay one of there favorite things to do.

Not only can you mold it but eat it as well.

Here is the recipe if you would like to try it.

1 lb powdered sugar

1/3 cup corn syrup

1/2 tsp. salt

1/3 cup softened butter

1 tsp. vanilla

5-7 drops food coloring

Mix all the ingredients together in medium bowl until blended. If its a too sticky add more powdered suger.

Happy Birthday Dallin

Well it is Dallin's 29th birthday and the kids always enjoy birthdays. I made dinner that Dallin requested and then we went to Kangaroo Zoo which is a warehouse full of inflatable playground toys. It wasn't just fun for the kids but also for the birthday boy.

Emma Catherine

Our new baby girl Emma Catherine weighted in at 9 lbs 6 oz and 23 inches long.

She came two days early and it is great that she is finally here. Both Jake and Christine were so excited to see her and hold her. They are always asking to hold the baby.

We named her after my grandma's name which I am partly named after.

Halloween

This is the first time that we have been trick or treating in our neighborhood since we brought the house last year and where still in between places. It was really fun here. There was a alot of activities to do. We trick or treated at the rec center the night before and then the day of Halloween we trick or treated on Main Street at the different shops and then to our neighbors at night. So the kids got good use of there costumes.

Jake wanted to be a skeleton for months but recently Dallin has let him watch reruns of He-Man and he kept saying he was Skeletor. We were proud of Jake's costume since it was home made and it glowed in the dark.

After much thought of what to have Christine be we decided to make her "Pinkalicious" from her favorite book. And she is such a funny girl that she would not let us take a picture of her until she had her wand.

The Birthday Month

Yes, both of my children are born in the same month which make it fun and exciting. Expecially since Christine share birthdays with an aunt and a cousin and Jake is only few days before.

Christine's First Official Hair Cut

Yes, I have given her a slight trim in the back before but for an actual shape, I wanted to go to a professional. So I took both Jake and Christine to get their hair cut at Cookie Cutters. Jake went first to show Christine that there was nothing to be afraid of.

But as you can see she is still thinking about it.

She got to pick out what car she wanted to sit in and what movie she wanted to watch

which was Care Bears.

She did really well until it came to the spritzing of the hair.

The finished product her eating a lollipop and I think she looks gorgeous.

Ready or Not

We finally sold our condo and have already bought our house, that was a forclosure. So needless to say that it is a fixer upper. Dallin has torn down a few walls to make a dining room and expand the kitchen unfortunalty the carpeting and hardwood floors, painting and kitchen will not be done by the time we have to move in which is this weekend.

It will be liveable just not as nice as I would like it for the kids. I hope they will adjust okay Jake as been complaing of stomach pain and I think it is just stress related. He knows we are moving and has been over to the house almost every day since we brought it about 2 weeks ago but I still don't think he considers it home since there is still so much work that needs to be done. So as I sit here tired of packing and knowing I have 50 million other things that I have to do before we move and thinking I just hope that kids will be okay. I know it is for the better and ready or not here we come.

The Dentist

A couple of weeks back I took Jake and Christine to the denist for a check up. For Christine she just sat on my lap looked at her teeth and ask me a couple of questions and that was it for her. But for Jake it was pretty exciting they ...

Look mom no cavities!

He did very good and the best the office has seen a 3 year old do. Also one of Jake's favorite book is the "The Tooth Book" by Dr. Seuss.
So who knows he might be a future denist.

My First 5K

Last Saturday, I run my first 5k. I was so inspired by my friend Traci and cousin Carrie running that I signed up months ago for a womens run call "Love Your Body". It was a race for women with eating disorders. At the beginning of the race a lady talked about her daugthers' struggle and how she died at 34 because of her eating disorder. I chose this race just because it was womens only, it made me feel be more comfortable running. Not really knowing about the cause but as I learned more about eating disorders I think it is very important to be aware and to raise awareness in others.

Me running and yes that is a smile on my face. I can see the finish line.

After the race, me telling Dallin not to take the picture because I am hot and sweating. (And yes I did finish before the high school cheerleaders in the background. YEAH FOR ME!) I really did enjoy it and plan on doing some more running.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a fun and very busy Labor Day weekend. On Friday we went to Little Cottonwood Canyon and hiked to Cercret Lake. Jake was a great little hiker we only held him a couple of going and coming down the mountain. His favorite part was thowing rocks into the lake. And Christine I think her favorite part is when I had her on my back for a while and she would take out my ponytail and play with my hair.

On Saturday we drove up to Francis Peak to see some more amazing views then we went to surf in swim in Layton sorry no pictures of swimming.

Sunday we went to church and still wanted to go camping but since most campsites over Labor Day weekend are full. We decided to camp at Nana'a and Grandpa's backyard, which was really fun. Dallin made s'mores and since it started raining we just had the tent underneath the patio cover. It was cool and dry we could smell and hear the rain.

Monday morning we had bunch at Nana's with all of Dallin's sibling except for Cameron and his family who lives in Ohio. Later that day, Dallin went to Larmine for site visit while me and the kids went over to Jana's house with Dallin's family for dinner. Jana and her family are always so nice to have us over for dinner. And we just love being with them!

Carly's Home!!

Dallin's younger sister Carly was in a bad car accident in Georgia on her way to a reception after her friends wedding. Carly spent several days in the hospital before she was allowed to come home. When she was able, we met her at the airport to welcome her home and to let her know how much we care for her.We told Jake that Carly was in an accident and was "hurt real bad" but I did not show him any of the pictures from Lindsay's blog so he wasn't quite prepared to see Carly this way. Since Jake's definition of "hurt real bad" is a scrape on the knee. I think his face tells the story.

Carly seems to be in great spirits and wanted to hold the kids. After the airport, Carly went to Nana's house where she will probably stay for a good month or two while she is getting better. We went to visit them after lunch, so they had a little time to settle in. While we were there the kids got more comfortable with Carly again.

We are so grateful for Carly and hope, wish and pray that she will make a full recovery. We love you, Carly!

It's birthday extravaganza around here. Since their birthdays are only 2 years and five days apart from each other. Jake is now three! I can't believe it. And Christine is one!

And for Christine I made mini pink cupcakes but by the 100th cupcake I decide to make one round cake with the leftover batter and frosting it. And since the candle is bigger than the mini cupcakes we just decided to put it on the round cake.

Not to mention Easton(Dallin sister Brynn's son), Lindsay(Dallin's sister) and Rebecca (my sister) are all born within a week of each other. So for all the birthday people in Dallin's family we had one big birthday party. There were presents galore.The birthday kids with Grandpa Burke and Gram.

Family Reunion Part 2

My side had a family reunion in Colorado, where my parents live. It was great to see my cousins and aunts and uncles that I haven't seen for a while. Unforunately, one of the uncles passed away a couple of years ago and his family was unable to attend and of course grandpa who has passed away over 23 years ago. But they will both always be remembered, not only by there kids but by there grandkids as well.

But I have always like this picture of my grandma and grandpa. (Sorry the quality is not what it should be it is a photo of a photo.)

We also had a lot of fun at the park and riding the kiddie rides for only $0.25 a ride! So the kids got to ride as many and as much as they wanted to.

Family Reunion Part 1

For Dallin's Family reunion we all went to Midway and stayed in the villas at Zermatt a really nice place will a Swiss feel. Only about 20 minutes from Park City.

So for one of the activities we went to the Alpine slide. Both Dallin and I wanted to take Jake down the slide but do to time restraints we could only go down once. So Dallin was on the slide right next to Jake and I, but he got to the finish line a lot faster. (Thanks again Stephanie for watching Christine and taking these pictures while we were going down the slide)

After the Alpine slide we all rushed back to get ready for the family picture. Which basically entailed that we get the kids changed since the colors were white, light blue and black. And we did not want the kids to be dirty for the picture. Especially since most of them are wearing white.

We are so thankful to have them for grandparents. They have been so kind and generous to all and have given us all great advise for the future ahead.

Independence Day

We celebrated our Independence Day by going to the parade where Dallin's parents live with the whole family. Jake got a ton of candy as well as a frisebe and a wristband.

After the parade there was fun booths and a couple of bounce house at the park. Jake bouncing at the bounce house. While Christine was scaling the bounce house wall with dad's help.

The best way to have an infant get their face painted is for them to be sleeping which was the case. Here is a short clip of Christine's first face painting.

After the parade and booths we went to Nana's house for a little bit and then went to Dallin's elementary school to see the updates. While the kids were playing on the playground. Dallin wanted to test and see if Christine could hold her self on the monkey bars. I said a cautious okay. She did great! And Dallin was right there while I snapped a quick picture.

And in the evening we went over the Dallin's sister house Brynn's for fireworks. Jake loved them; Sammie his cousin not so much.

Lagoon

Dallin's summer work party was at Lagoon this year so Dallin took a half day and we all went. We started at Lagoona Beach the water was sooo cold but Jake loved going though the tunnels while Christine was happy playing with the drains and walking around the benchs.

Yes, ten months old and pig tails. I love them. Both Dallin and I think she looks older with them. More like a toddler and less like an infant.

I know my sectioning isn't the greatest but it is my first try. I hope as time goes by I will become an expert.

My First Day of School

It's been seven years since I been in school. Yes, seven!!! I graduated from LDS Business College in 2001 with an associate of science. And now I am at the University of Utah, just taking one class for teaching. I hope one day to become an elementary school teacher. It will propably take sometime but by small and simple things great things happen. The first day of school is pretty basic you sit down, introduce yourself, review the syllabus and leave.

The hardest part for me was getting to school and getting back home. Trying to get to school was not easy since both kids were passed out so I loaded both sleeping kids into the car went to Dallin's work, picked Dallin up and drove to school. Dallin took a picture of me at school for the traditional first day of school photo. And went to class in which I forget what room number it was in and popped my head in every class room asking which class it was. It only took three tries. And I found the right one and I found it before class started.

But since the class ended early Dallin just pulled into the driveway at home because of traffic. So I decided to take Trax home. I was my first time riding Trax by myself and sometimes I forget that there are shadey and very colorful people in the world one of which was a very intoxicated women who fell on me but when it came to my stop I was ready to enjoy the evening walking back home. And it is alway great to come home to my family when you have seen some of the outside world.

Finally Boy Stuff!!!

Let me start off saying that their are hardly any boys for Jake to play with but on Friday I babysat for Ezra a boy in our ward and they had such a good time they pretended to be astronauts put buckets on there heads for their space helmets and you cannot forget the light sabers.

Also I signed Jake up for t-ball back in March and finally it is here!!! Unfortunately, the field was all muddy from the rain so we had to go inside to the gym, but that was okay. Since it was the first week they just went through the basics like swinging the bat, catching the ball with your mitt, and running the bases. Jake is one of the youngest if not the youngest. And being his first time where the rest of these boys are seasoned veterans. I think the video pretty much sums it up. Sometimes a clip says so much more than I could ever write. So I hope you enjoy!

Good Bye To Vicky

Well, it's been a almost two weeks since Vicky has moved. It was always nice to have her come over and occasionally babysit now & then. I know we will miss her but especially Jake.

My parents and Rebecca came out here to move my sister back home. When they were out here we had a fun time together.

And for Vicky's last meal here we ate at Ruby River with one of Vicky's friend Tino. After dinner since it was so nice out we just stood talked for a little while.

It had a little winding path in between the resturants which Jake loved and called it "the yellow brick road". He went up and down that path at least 10 times with Rebecca right behind him.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

PLANES

Well, as you may or may not know Dallin occasionally gets flown to little remote parts of Utah to make sure buildings are built to the correct specs. And he took these cool pictures with his Blackberry. One of Temple Square and the other of the mountains in which the propellors look distorted. Since it is not a high speed camera this is how it looked. He also got to fly the Cessna (little plane) for a little bit.

TRAINS

The new front runner train that goes from Salt Lake to Odgen was free for the first 3 days so on one of those days we rode from Salt Lake to Woods Cross which was the first stop and walked to the A&W resturant which was less than one mile away, ate dinner and got back on again and went home.

Jake loved riding on the train but being free and all it was PACKED standing room only so with two small children they were being held the entire time. I really wanted to take a picture so here is Dallin holding both of them.

I took these pictures with my phone and it must have had a smuge on it. So it only seems like a dream.

AUTOMOBILES

One Saturday morning Dallin and Jim (Dallin's Dad) went to the gun show with Jake. They had such a great time and at the gun show Dallin brought Jake two lightsabers and on there way home Jake fell alseep holding on to them. I am sure he was dreaming about using them.

Ohio Trip

Yeh, I know it's been forever since I done my blog. I am sure you know we all get caught up in other projects. But Ohio was good, it was nice for Jake and Christine to be able to play with Zack, Coleman, Riley and Maren. They have a nice big house to run and play in. Jake was so tired by the time we left just tring to keep up with the older kids. Unforuately I did not take any pictures when we were just hanging around the house. But I did when we went to the Kirkland Temple and when we went to the store house. I was really interesting at the Kirkland Temple vistor center since it is now owned by the Community of Christ. We saw a picture of a woman baptizing a little girl and so Dallin took a picture of that. As shown below.

Fun Firsts

I started this post before we went to Ohio to see Dallin brothers family but never finished just because I was too busy getting ready for the trip. The next post will be about Ohio.

Christine's first time down a silde was at Discovery Gateway. Dallin got this video of Christine going down the slide a couple of times. And it was also our first time going to Discovery Gateway. We all loved it!

We had tons our fun at Discovery Gateway, there was so much to see and do. It was also during the Seasame Street Exhibit which was fun Jake got to play on the counts organ and so many other exhibits but I think one of Jake's favorites was the ball being blown into the pipe and every time you open it it blows a burst of air into your face.

We also went to Jungle Jims for the first time and Jake got to drive a bumper car. He loved crushing into Dallin and having Dallin crush into him. It is alway nice to be able to do fun things as a family!

Feeding the Birds

The weather has been so nice that we have been going to the park almost every day. Jake's favorite thing to do is feed the birds and Christine's favorite thing to do is sleep in the stroller. I love it! Here is a video of Jake running to feed to birds. I hope you enjoy it.

Bear Lake

We always enjoy going to Bear Lake! Dallin made Jake a snow fort but Christine also got to enjoy it long enough for a photo which I think they look so cute. Unfortunatly they are not together because they were switching off for naps. When one was up the other was sleeping.

And speaking of sleeping here is a funny story. Dallin, Jake and I went snowmobiling together and Jake fell asleep in the middle of our drive which was pretty cute. But when I was driving I got the snowmobile stuck and while Dallin was trying to get it unstuck I carried sleeping Jake through the snow since we were not to far from the cabin(you can see where Dallin and the snowmobile in this picture) but far enough that I had to pass him off the Lindsay(Dallin's sister) and she carried him the rest of the way inside.

But just before we actually went snowmobiling Jake hopped on and made little engine sounds as if he were actually riding it all by himself which I think sometimes the imagination is almost better then the real thing since he fell asleep when we were really riding it.

Yes, while we were at Bear Lake Christine cut her not just one bottom tooth, but two teeth at the same time. So this vacation was really usefull for her. On Saturday she slept all day and night. It was so nice just to hold her while she slept, since she usually is the queen of 30 minute power naps and only takes them 3 maybe 4 times a day which is not much for a 5 month old. This is a picture of Christine and me at the cabin (notice the drooling shirt). Dallin found this hat and we think Christine looks adorable in it.

Jake's Gymnastics

Jake has been in a gymnastics class since November and he is getting really good. He can walk across the 3 ft high balance beam all by himself now (as shown). Jake walks so quickly across the balance beam that it took me a few tries to get a picture.

He can also do a somersault which is shown is this video. But this is not all they do in gymnastics, they also swing on the parallel bars crawl through tunnels and bounce on the trampoline.

This is a picture of him with his teacher helping him walk up the wall. We were really sad that there was no gymnastics today because the teacher was sick. We hope she feels better soon!It is such a fun class and such a good way for Jake to get some energy out when it is so cold and snowy out side. We love gymnastics!

Holding Christine

In the mornings Dallin gets up with the kids and lets me get one more hour of sleep before he goes to work or school. Which I really love since Christine wakes up many times during the night. But one morning Jake wanted to hold Christine and it was so cute that Dallin took these pictures.

Super Reader Event

On Saturday we were invited to the "Super Reader Party" which was a part of the 15th Annual Reading Marathon for KUED. Since Jake read so many books and turned in his paper at the library. Jake got to be curious with curious George.Yep that's right curious George was there along with the man with the yellow hat. While we were waiting in line to see George (which was the longest line I had ever seen, comparable to Disney Land). Jake was always keeping his eyes on George and when ever they would take a break (to remove there costumes for a breather) he would wonder where they went. And when we finally got up there Jake was so happy he did not want to leave them and gave George a little hug. It was really cute.

And there were cute little booths where Jake got to pet a dog, get a stuffed animal, see how tall he was compared to the animals and make a pin out of a rainforest nut and draw on top of it (which I think looks like a pi symbol, sorry no picture) and he also got a free Curious George book. We all had a really fun time!

Christmas Vacation Highlights

This Christmas we went to Colorado to see my family. Here are a few highlights from our vacation. The kids each got to decorate a ginger bread house but Dallin and I helped Jake quite a bit with decorating his. Jake's favorite thing about the ginger bread house was dipping the candy into the frosting and licking it off. As though the frosting was a dipping sauce.

Jake got to play with his cousins which he really loved. Here is a picture of them in the new pajamas that Grandma gave them Christmas eve. But before they got their new pajamas the kids dressed up for the Nativity. Leevi was Joseph, Raquel was Mary, Jake was the shepard and Rebecca was the star. We did try to put a towel on Jake's head but he did not want to wear it but I still think he looks pretty cute in his robe.

Well, like I stated it is only the highlights there were many more pictures but I think the ones with the kids are the best. So I hope you enjoy them. I know, I do.

Daddy's Little Girl

Every day the kids get so excited when Dallin comes home. Christine coos and she really loves it when Dallin gives her raspberries on her cheeks and neck. Too bad for Dallin because he could never she her face when he did it so I decided to take a picture and show him how happy that made her. It is so cute that I wanted to show it to everyone else. Camera Happy

Nana let us borrow some toys which was nice to give Jake a change from his old toys. And so he could hold out until Christmas. One of the toys was a camera. Jake loves to take pictures with the toy camera and he does it more frequently than I do. So I thought I would get my camera out and take a picture of him and the camera.

One of his favorite things to take of picture of is his sister Christine and she doesn't seem to mind it a bit.

And on Saturday, Jake and Dallin made their first snow man together as well as snow angels. Jake really wasn't to sure about laying in the snow to make snow angels but he did it and it looked great. Christine and I only made it out to take some pictures. Then we went back in to make some hot chocolate for the boys. It was a fun day!

Octoberfest!!

We have been doing a lot of fun Halloween stuff this October. First, Nana took us to Gardner Village which has pony rides, a petting zoo and really cute shops that are decorated for Halloween.

Then, at Music Makers (a class in which they play and dance to music every Friday) they all wore there costumes and had fun Halloween snacks.

We also went to the Gallavin Center and did some trick or treating.(Sorry no photos of this)

And finally for Halloween we went to Lindsay's and the Clingers trunk or trick which was nice since Nana and Grandpa came to so we could all be together. Jake had lots of fun and even more fun sampling some of his treats after it was all said and done. Jake was Super Why from PBS Kids and Christine was a Bee. These are pumpkins that Grandma and Grandpa Reber had grown and given to us. They were carved by Dallin and were Jack from the Nightmare before Christmas and Curious George .

Family Fun

The past couple of weekends have been raining here and we needed to get out of the house and have some fun. So we decided to go to Hollywood Connection which has a skating rink, rides and video games. The kids were so good Christine slept (the reason why she is absent from the photos) and Jake just wanted to do more of everything. This was his first time skating and he did great! Here is a few pictures.

Jake's First Pet

Well, we did it. We got Jake his first pet! Dallin took Jake to the pet store to see all the fun animals. Jake just loved it! So he had to bring home a souvenir and we decided upon a fish. But not just any old gold fish that will last two days a beta fish, which Jake picked out himself and I hope will last at least a couple of months. Here is a picture of Jake and his fish which he named Elmo.

Building Forts

Jakes new favorite thing to do is build a fort with his dad every night with the cushions from our couch. The forts are getting more structually sound with every one they build. Jake likes to test their strength (when he is done playing inside) by sitting or jumping on until it is destroyed. And then he usually crawls around and through the rubble of the cushions.

I thought this was just a fun little thing to see who looked more like whom. I thought it was interesting that they sway about the same percent toward a different parent.

On Saturday we went to get pictures of Jake and Christine. Since Jake just turned 2 and Christine is only 4 weeks old. I would have liked to have gotten a family photo but by the time were finished with the kids we were all really tired. Maybe next time.
